100 Chimes Rum
The name “100 Chimes” is inspired by a significant historical event in St Andrews. Dating as far back as the 1400s, the town’s bell would ring 100 times to signal the closing of the gates, ensuring the safety of its residents. The bells still ring today, a tradition which is a testament to the town’s enduring spirit and sense of community, which we have proudly incorporated into our rum.
Local Collaboration
This rum is the latest project following our successful gin collaboration with The Criterion Bar. As passionate rum enthusiasts and in celebration of The Criterion’s 150th anniversary in St. Andrews, the team wanted to create a rum that honours this historic town.
Emily Strachan, a talented young graphic designer from Cupar, crafted several sketches before finalising the label design. Winter Simpson Print of Dundee then brought these designs to life, utilising some of the finest paper and printing processes in the industry
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich and inviting, with a dominant presence of warm spices. Cloves and cinnamon lead the way, creating a cozy, festive scent. Subtle hints of vanilla add a creamy sweetness, while the orange peel provides a bright, citrusy lift that balances the spice.
Palate: Smooth and well-rounded. The cloves and allspice berries offer a robust spiciness that is immediately noticeable. Complemented by the sweet, woody notes of cassia, adding depth and complexity. The vanilla brings a creamy, almost caramel-like sweetness, and orange peel introducing a refreshing citrus zing cutting through the richness
Finish: Long and warming, with spices lingering pleasantly on the tongue while the vanilla and orange peel fade gently, leaving a balanced, slightly sweet aftertaste.
