Dining At Your Local: The Boar’s Head, Auchtermuchty
Finding a gem within a little town in the middle of nowhere is so satisfying! The Boar’s Head in Auchtermuchty is just that! We met Justina and David at a trade show in March 2023, after tasting a few of our products, a relationship developed and here we are now celebrating Kecia’s birthday, enjoying some delicious food in the heart of Fife.
‘Fall in Love With Fife’ - we couldn’t agree more! The Boar’s Head is nestled in the small town of Auchtermuchty, just 10 minutes drive from the Falkland Hills. With an abundance of fantastic produce right on it’s doorstep, The Boar’s Head utilises this to create high-end pub food with modern twists.
In their drinks menu you can find an Espresso Martini, made with our Vanilla Vodka and our Coffee Liqueur. Before the meal we were presented with a delicious amuse bouche of something similar to cheese profiteroles that were slightly warmed with melted cheese oozing out!
It was clear from the menu just how inspired they are by local food, with unique choices to choose from. The whole family had a field day trying to pick the best dish! Duncan chose the delicious Scallops for starter, while Mary enjoyed an elevated version of chestnut mushrooms on sourdough toast with tangy pickled vegetables! Yum!
Fish seemed to be the flavour of the night, as Mary, Duncan and Grandpa all tucked in to a variety of fish dishes for the main while Kecia had the veggie option and Alasdair had the beef burger! To finish it off, Kecia was presented with a surprise birthday plate and a chorus to wish her happy birthday before enjoying a creme brulee!
Over the course of the evening something that we loved was the intimate and warm dining experience, favourite dishes on the table were the Beavertown IPA Battered Haddock and chips, the Scottish Pollock, and Scallops!
If you want to experience high-end dining, in a cosy warm pub feel this is the perfect place! You can book a table online at The Boar’s Head or ring them at 01337 829 659.
